We have lived here for almost a decade and still hadn't made it up to Muir Woods, so we decided to change that. We reserved a time to go there with the Lee family. It was pretty incredible to take in the massive redwood trees and be out in such a secluded, quiet place. We did quite a bit of hiking, spotted several banana slugs, and enjoyed playing inside and around some of the bigger Redwoods.
After we wrapped up at Muir Woods, we traveled into San Francisco for some dim sum takeout in Chinatown, then ate it at a local park. It was weird to see the park so deserted on a weekend midday, but it was nice to get around town without the soul crushing traffic and throngs of people to get through. We capped off our trip with a jaunt over to Hayes Valley for a stop into Smitten's ice cream and eating those pints in a park nearby. It was a long, full day of being out and about. It was so nice to be able to get out and do something even with all the social restrictions on us these days.
