Lyla's school put on a darling Christmas service and delicious Souper Supper for their church a few weeks ago. Lyla practiced to so much to get her songs and speaking part down. The service was centered around Christmas concepts that centered around basic shapes. The songs they sung were "Oh What A Special Night" (which was a HUGE crowd pleaser for all who heard it at the church and while Lyla was practicing) and "The Many Shapes of Christmas". Lyla's class spoke about a square, and Lyla had a special part:
"This is a square. It is the shape of many Christmas presents."
Another child supplemented their part, and then after she and the other child finished with saying, "Jesus, our Savior". I was not totally prepared for how crazy parents get to video tape and take pictures of their child (especially during a church service!), but it was super cute nonetheless and she did a great job at both the church services.
