This past weekend was we blessed Hank in our church. Because of that, Grammy, Pa, Aunt Emma, Uncle Aaron, Aunt Kristen, Max, Sadie, Charlie, Uncle B, and Aunt Liz all came to visit! It was the time of year that my parents and sister usually come, so the timing to have Hank's blessing in addition was great timing. Everyone enjoyed holding Hank and trying to coax smiles out of him, as well as listening to Lyla's crazy stories and songs, as well as playing her interesting games. Lyla loved playing with all her cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
Saturday afternoon, Grammy and Pa treated all the grandkids to a Chuck-E-Cheese experience. Lyla had never been, so we weren't sure what to expect. The kids had a blast playing games and eating as much pizza as possible.
Back at our house, the cousins loved taking advantage of our backyard and good weather to play to their hearts' content. We had a cookout over at our house that evening, and Uncle B, Aunt Liz, and Maga and Paga came over to join in the fun.
Sunday we had Hank's blessing at church. After church and naptime, we all headed over to Hank and Sherie's for another get-together. The weather was so beautiful again that day, so the kids played in and outside, and enjoyed lots of rough-housing with Uncle B. They finished the day with watching "Hotel Transylvania". I am so glad to see Lyla and Sadie hanging out so much together, because I know they will be super close girl cousins in the years to come!
The weekend was a whirlwind, and as you can tell from Hank's passed out expression, the whole thing took a lot of out him. Here's hoping the crazy weekend of festivities will help him sleep better at night!
