The Peak
No trip to Hong Kong is complete without a trip to Victoria's Peak. Notwithstanding, Ellen wasn't so sure that she wanted to go. So, I pushed it and finally she conceded with a "lets get it over with." So, on Saturday morning we headed for the peak. It was the first nice clear day we had since she arrived. After the Tram ride to the top, Ellen realized that the peak is in fact pretty cool. The views were fantastic (as expected). To the south, we could see Cheung Chau, were we were a day previous. To the north, the towering buildings of Hong Kong and Kowloon. We soaked up the views and poked around on the peak for a bit. After our descent, we continued the shopping spree, as Ellen scoured for gifts to take home. The day flew by. At night, we headed to Aberdeen to go to the Jumbo floating restaurant. We were disappointed by the expensive, sub-par fare. We found ourselves in a first rate tourist trap. Though, the meal was a disappointment, the day was a success. Already, we had found ourselves at Ellen's final night in Hong Kong. Early Sunday morning I saw her off to the airport, and I was left alone in my shoebox sized apartment that was a little lonlier.
