Saturday morning we went up to Auburn to visit the Foresthill Bridge. It's the tallest in California and the fourth tallest in the US. We were able to walk across and back, and we all were able to do it (even Mom - who's scared of heights!). After that we visited a local burger spot for some lunch, then made it back home for some backyard water fun and lots of Minecraft. The adults watched the NASCAR race (or slept!), then some shopping at TJ Maxx (they're actually open in Sacramento!), pizza dinner from Domino's, then a late night sibling trip to DQ for a blizzard.
Sunday we had a family church lesson talking about heroes in the Book of Mormon - that week we focused on Abish. It was a great lesson with a really cool video to go with it, then we settled in for lots of race car watching and video game playing. We made a quick trip to BJ Cinnamon for donuts (USA Today alleged they had the best donuts in California) and found they were quite delicious. Uncle Aaron smoked a steelhead trout for us and it was quite delicious. We headed out around bedtime and had a record time getting home - less than two hours!
