We're Done With School!

We made it to the end of the school year with an entire trimester of home schooling!  It was a weird, challenging time but the kids were absolute champs about it.  I am so grateful that my kids are able to work independently and are responsible for getting all their schoolwork done.  It started off a little overwhelming with all the things I had to oversee and making sure three kids in three different grades were on all the Zoom calls they were supposed to be, completing all the work that was assigned and just kind of figuring things out as we went along.

Jack graduated from preschool!  They had a very sweet drive-through graduation ceremony for him, and he has mixed feelings about not being able to go back and see his teachers, Miss Liz and Miss Dorothy, and friends anymore.  He is very excited about the fact that he'll be starting PM Kindergarten in the fall and will occasionally be able to see Lyla and Hank on campus.

Hank lucked out, in that Mrs. C was going on maternity leave at the beginning of May, so it didn't impact things much at all with her being gone.  She was able to get all the lesson plans sent out through the end of the school year before she left, and Hank has been able to see her a few times since shelter in place started.  He's very excited to start 2nd grade and is hoping that some of his friends will be in his next class with him.

Lyla is sad that she is ending a two year relationship with Mrs. Wayne and being in a 2nd/3rd grade combo class that she says was her favorite ever (no behavior problems!).  She is excited about being in the upper grades at the elementary school now, although now that will put her on a different recess schedule than Hank.  She's not sure what will happen in the fall, but she's ready to deal with it when its time to go back to school!

Congratulations kiddos - you are the best students a mother could ask for!
