End of Transitional Kindergarten

Lyla now has her first year of elementary school under belt!  Transitional Kindergarten has been awesome because it's every day AND it's literally at the end of our street.  The latter has been such a blessing with Jack being only a week old when she started school last fall.  I asked Lyla what her favorite and least favorite things about TK were, and she said she liked doing science experiments the best and liked writing the least.  No big surprise there!  She did an end of the year ceremony with her class where they sang three songs, then each got a special award from their teacher and then were turned into kindergartners with Mrs. Savage's special wand.  Lyla received the "Ready and Responsible" award, and I was happy to hear the sweet things her teacher said about her in conjunction with the award.  She had a great report card, and she was super proud of herself (as she should be!).  She and I are both feeling really good about her moving on to Kindergarten in the fall.  For now, though, we're going to enjoy a few months of rest and relaxation!
