Hank's 3rd birthday was pretty epic. His birthday fell on a Sunday this year, so a little prep was done on Saturday to ensure maximum fun level while still observing the Sabbath. Hank spent the night with Maga and Paga (which is already one of his favorite things) and woke up to a breakfast of donuts. He got to open his Stellasphere spaceship from "Miles From Tomorrowland" from Maga and Paga before church, so he was pretty excited about that.
After church and naps we headed over to Maga and Paga's for more celebrating. He opened gifts from Lyla (a Captain American Tsum Tsum stuffed animal) and Mom and Dad (and R2D2 helmet and a Star Wars bike). He wanted to ride his bike ASAP, so we indulged him for a little while until dinner time (hamburgers - of course!). After dinner came opening presents from Grammy and Pa (a garbage truck complete with trash cans and a movable arm to grab said trash cans) and Aunt Emma and Jack (they went halvsies on a "Build Your Own Airplane" kit). He loved his gifts so much that we could tell he was getting on the verge of having a meltdown, but he kept it together really well. We had yet another cake (this time cookie dough ice cream cake!) and sang "Happy Birthday" to him once again.
He is on cloud nine with all his new gifts and he has now and is already anxiously asking me when his next birthday is. It may be a long wait for him, but hopefully Hank will find there are a LOT of things to occupy his time till the next one comes around!
