Swim Class

For a little over a year, Lyla and Hank have been taking swim classes at the American Swim Academy.  They both have progressed so much over the past year.  Lyla went from being cautious of putting her face into the water at all to working towards mastering the four different swim strokes.  Hank adapted to the water fairly quickly, to hating having anything to do with going to swim class, to becoming pretty coordinated with his underwater movements (i.e. having me let go of him and being able to turn around underwater to find the wall, swim up to the surface, grab the wall, and climb out of the pool).  Hank moved through the levels to get to the "Super Aqua Babies" level, and Lyla worked her way up to "Advanced Preschool 2" and has already earned her ribbon in the freestyle stroke.  I am really proud of the kids working so hard on overcoming fears and things that made them uncomfortable and tackling something that's super important to me (water safety).
