Hank: 11 Months

Hank is just one month shy of turning a year old!  This month brought a cross-country trip to Ohio to visit Grammy, Pa, and Aunt Emma.  He also started really walking. At about 10.5 months he learned how to stand up by himself and then there was no stopping him.  That same day, he FINALLY cut his first tooth!  He got another tooth just barely in before he turned 11 months, so with two teeth offically in we're now on brushing teeth twice a day.  Hank may be the only baby I know who cries because you can't get the brush and toothpaste in his mouth fast enough.

Hank is finally starting to refuse any and all baby food.  He's been on table food for awhile, but we try to sneak in a tub of fruit and/or veggies to make sure he's getting enough nutrition before letting him have at his finger foods.  It's been a transition to get him to eat the equivalent amount of table food versions of fruits and veggies, but he's slowly coming along.

Hank also sadly got his first cold and ear infection.  It breaks my heart a little to hear him wake up and cough in the night, then whimper as he goes back to sleep.  Getting sick is fun for no one.

Hank's speech is picking up.  He's getting more skilled at mimicking sounds that he hears, and can repeat back a few words (it's also amusing that he'll mimic blowing raspberries or sticking out his tongue!).  He says and knows what the words mean for "dada", "mama", "yaya" (Lyla), and "kitty".

I can't believe our little boy will be a year old so soon, but we're excited to celebrate the big milestone with him!
