This year we were so blessed to have all of the Tillman family come to us in Cali. Alyssa is still on her mission, and we missed her but we know we'll see her again in a few months! We kicked things off celebrating Katie and Alyssa's birthdays with a viewing of "Spiderman: No Way Home", dinner at Five Guys, and dessert at our house. Katie got a Red Velvet Cake with Hot Cocoa Frosting and Roasted Marshmallow Topping and we had Peppermint Brownies in honor of Alyssa. The kids had school Tuesday and Wednesday, but they were really good sports about it and somehow made it through! We made a trip down to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk for some chilly beach time and arcade playing, lots of video game playing, some runs, workouts and park time, lots of spoiling Rey time, and a lot of time just hanging out and catching up.
Christmas was a success, with Santa bringing Lyla a guitar, Hank a drone with a camera, and Jack with a huge Nerf gun. We were just happy to be healthy and all together. The day after Christmas we went to Great Wolf Lodge out in Manteca for all the family to enjoy the indoor water park (Maga and Paga's present to the grandkids). It was crazy and chaotic and the kids absolutely loved it. It was fun to have an adventure all together. The saddest part was Bret and Brandon's families leaving for home from the Lodge and Shannon's family heading out the next day. We will miss them but we're optimistic about being able to see each other again relatively soon and next time will likely be seeing Alyssa post-mission!
