We were invited by the Lee family to head down to Moss Landing State Beach to have a cookout and burn some old Christmas trees that they brought with them. We haven't seen anything like that before, but I could see how it would be a good tradition to have. It turns out, kids LOVE seeing things set on fire. We had a grand time heading down, listening to an audiobook (our new favorite car thing), picking up pies at Gizdich Ranch, then roasting hot dogs and marshmallows for s'mores, then the main event - Christmas tree fire. It felt a little bit cathartic, a way to see goodbye to 2020 and start anew in 2021. Here's to a fresh starts!
