Mom got to go away for her annual Girls Trip with Martina to New Orleans this year. Martina's high school friend, Savannah, also got to join in on the fun. We went right at the beginning of Mardi Gras, but we were able to avoid a good chunk of the craziness. We took a bus tour to see the entire city and see the impacts of Hurricane Katrina, took a Haunted History tour of the French Quarter, watched exactly one Mardi Gras parade, ate lots and lots of good food (Commander's Palace, crawfish boil, Ruby Slipper, District Donuts, and Willa Jean to name a few!), a quick jaunt to the spa, and lots of shopping and hanging out. Mom came back refreshed and ready to get back to her family!
