On Saturday morning, Lyla had a soccer game. Her team won a bit of a nail biter 3-2 with Lyla scoring two of her team's goals. Sister Durham, Simon, and Uncle Mick all came along with Dad, Mom, Jack, Maga, and Paga to cheer her on. After the game we celebrated with some McDonald's. Dad and Jack split off for an afternoon nap while Lyla and I went to the nail salon for some mani/pedis. I let Lyla pick out my nail polish this time, and she wanted to match my toes to her fingers. It was super cute - and stylish!
Hank had been gone the majority of the day at a friend's birthday outing, so when he got back we all went to Olive Garden for dinner along with Maga and Paga. There was a loooong wait, yet somehow the queue in front of us magically vanished as we were deciding whether to sit through a long wait time or not and we were seated almost immediately. We surprised Lyla by having the waiters sing "Happy Birthday" to her. It was super cute to see how excited she was.
Sunday we woke up and had Krispy Kreme donuts we had bought the night before, then a trip to church was made for Stake Conference. The afternoon was low-key and we ended at Maga and Paga's for a birthday dinner of hamburgers and Caesar salad, followed by presents and cake! Presents included a Lil' Gleemerz pet from Pa, Puppy Surprise from Grammy, a Pomsie from Aunt Emma, crafts and a charm bracelet from Maga and Paga, a Scruff-A-Luv from Jack, and Mini Fingerlings, a Pikmi Pop, and an LOL Suprise ball from Hank. We had a multi-colored Beanie Boo piñata cake. It was quite the labor of love but she seemed to really enjoy it. With the birthday officially over, it's time to move on to the baptism at the end of the week!
