Holi Celebration

A few weeks ago Lyla's friends and their parents invited us to take part in a small Holi celebration.  We have seen families celebrating around Fremont in the past with their packets of colors thrown into the air, but didn't know that much about the holiday or what it represents.  We found out that it's a celebration of colors and love.  It signifies good over evil, the arrival of spring and end of winter, and a chance to forget and forgive as well as repair broken relationships.  We were excited to go!  All the kids were hesitant at first, but Lyla and Hank soon jumped in the chaos of getting messy and running around throwing color at each other.  I wish we'd gotten pictures after more colors were given out, but what we did take very accurately.  We are so grateful for the new experiences that living in the Bay Area provides us with.  Here's to taking part in many more new and fun things!
