Father/Son Campout 2017

It's been four years in the making.  This was Hank's first year getting to attend the Father/Son Campout with his dad.  It seems like every year there is a scheduling conflict or some other commitment that needs to take precedence, but with each passing year, Hank was becoming more and more aware that Lyla had been camping with Dustin several times and he had yet to go.

We started off the week with Hank counting down the days till he would be able to leave for the campout.  With each day more excitement (and more craziness) grew.  The boys went out Thursday to go shopping for their snacks and food and got everything all packed up and ready to go.  Friday was a little hectic and crazy with Lyla needing TWO trips to the doctor to get her antibiotics for pinkeye and an ear infection.

The boys finally got out the door around five o'clock and enjoyed an evening of hot dog and marshmallow roasting, a fireside, and lots of boy-centric good times.  Hank had a great time hanging out with friends, getting to sleep in his very own tent, and spending "guy time" with his dad.  He came home just as amped up and excited as when he left, which I think was a good sign.  Now to count down the days/weeks/months until the next camping adventure.
