Jack - 7 Months

Another month has gone by and we're now at 7 months for Jack!  Our boy has been experimenting with moving a lot this past month, and it's causing his a lot of frustration.  He can plank, do a downward dog, or get up on all fours and rock back and forth, along with scooting backwards or in circles.  I think Jack may be practicing yoga before he starts purposefully crawling forward, but he will be well-toned when he finally gets the hang of it!

Sleeping (for the most part) has been a dream.  Jack sleeps 1.5 - 2 hours for each of his two naps, and then sleeps through most nights.  When he does wake, he usually gets himself back to sleep.  The few times we go in, it's usually a toss up on whether he needs a quick rock back to sleep or we're going to be up for HOURS before he gets settled back into deep sleep but we're finding those nights seem to be tied to constipation or gassiness.  Mostly, though, he goes down after his 7pm bottle and sleeps until 7:30am.  Heavenly.

Eating is going pretty well.  Can I just say once again how nice it is to not deal with reflux this time around?!  Jack's eating three meals a day with four bottles as well, but I'm pretty sure we're going to need to start an afternoon snack pretty soon as he gets pretty fussy until dinnertime comes around.  He expects food as soon as you start taking him towards the high chair, so patience is a virtue he's going to have to learn.  He's quite the moving target when we feed him and he loves to teethe while eating, which makes for a very messy baby.  But he eats, and he seems to enjoy most food, so a messy baby isn't the worst thing.  Bring on the scrubbing!

Language is slowly coming along, and he saying more sounds when he "talks" to us. He loves to smile and giggle, and he recently started squinting when he smiles and is especially jazzed about something.   We're seeing a bit of stranger danger, but nothing to crazy... yet.

I'm hoping that Jack learns to crawl soon (for everyone's sake - he's so frustrated and he let's everyone know it!), that teething is a relatively painless experience, and that the drooling ends sometime soon.  You can do it Jack!
