Last weekend Lyla had her first field trip with her preschool to Ardenwood Farms. Every year, the farm hosts a festival to harvest their crop of corn for the year. You can pick and take home as much as you'd like, and they ask that you pick and leave some for the farm to use throughout the year as well. The festival also had other activities, like ice cream-making, cider pressing, train rides, and, or course, plenty of farm animals to watch. I've forgotten how easy it is to lose people in a field of fully-grown corn stalks, but we managed to keep track of our crew. The kids had fun, but were very hot and worn out by the time we left!
