I can't believe how time is just flying by - Lyla is already 15 months old! So much just continues to change, and I have a hard time keeping up! Lyla is now 30.5 inches long and 22 lbs. 2 oz., landing her once again in 75th percentile for height and 50th percentile for her weight. Lyla is talking up a storm, and getting very good at repeating words you say to her. Most recently she's conquering lots of names, including aunts, uncles, and cousins. She can now make animal sounds for over 10 different animals and is starting to recognize the color purple and name it appropriately (sometimes). She's getting really good at saying "please" and "thank you" and continues to surprise us with what seems like a new word every few days! She's starting to enjoy singing along to songs once she catches a melody and this kid still loves to rock out and dance to a good song.
Lyla LOVES table food. She has a grown woman's appetite when it's time to eat a home-cooked dinner, which makes her mommy feel very pleased! She's still having a hard time eating solid veggies, but we're getting there! We've discovered that if the food involves anything she can take a bite off of, like corn on the cob, it will be a definite winner.
Lately Lyla seems to be into playing with musical instruments, anything having to do with pretend food (feeding her babies and mom, going grocery shopping, having a picnic or tea party), toting around her Little People figures, and, of course, playing librarian - stacking books, moving books, flipping through books. She's a quite photogenic, although now she just likes to run at the camera instead of standing and smiling. Nonetheless, enjoy some more recent pictures of this cutie!
