New Weather, New Lyla!

So much has been going on in Lyla's little life that we felt the need for a mid-month update. First of all, this past weekend Dustin decided to try cutting out Lyla's 10pm feeding. This meant Lyla gets a bottle now at 7pm, then sleeps until her morning bottle at 7am. I figured there was no way she'd sleep through it, but she surprised us and slept her little heart out! Although it's only been two nights, we're crossing fingers that this is a new pattern for her! We LOVE these 12 hour stretches of sleep! Below are some pics of Lyla the first day of trial 12 hour sleeping - We think she loves it, although notice in the second picture she's clearly got her eye on Ellen...

Second, Lyla is officially on hiatus from taking her Prevacid (the medicine for her reflux). The gastroentrologist only wanted her on the medicine for two months, then to try to take her off before she got dependent on it. Again, keeping our fingers crossed during this trial period that she adjusts fine without the medicine. If she can't get by without it, though, we'll just put her right back on and work on weaning her off at nine months. In the meantime, let's keep a good thought!

Lyla is enjoying a newfound sense of mobility. She learned how to roll from back to tummy, and now the world is her oyster! She rolls around to her heart's content, and is using scooting in circles, rolling, and a bit of creeping to get to whatever object is catching her eye, causing her mom many panic attacks when she finds her across the room from where she left her, leaving her to say "How did you DO that, Lyla?!". Also, on a less fun note this new mobility severely set back Lyla's progress in napping. However, through the repeated efforts of her mean mom, Lyla has learned to just sleep on her tummy if she finds herself stuck during a nap or at night. Notice she's also using her scooting skills to end up in weird positions in the crib...

Fourth, Dustin has been harping on Ellen because she hasn't taken many pictures with Lyla. Finally, Dustin captured this cute pic during General Conference weekend. Check out our pretty ballerina (with a tutu courtesy of Aunt Shannon!).
