Happy Seven Months Lyla!

Lyla is now seven months! She is now 27.5 inches tall and weighs 18 pounds. This has probably been the craziest month to date with all the changes Lyla has been going through. Lyla has officially begun creeping/crawling around our apartment, leading us to find a whole host of things that need to be baby-proofed. Lyla has definitely been hearing the word "no" a lot as a result! Between the crawling and rolling in both directions, Lyla is a girl on the go now. Lyla is also steadily now on the path to eating baby food. She's quite unique, because she seems to not like fruit too much. However, she LOVES vegetables and eats them like candy, so we'll embrace this quirk for as long as it lasts! She is now sleeping around TWELVE HOURS STRAIGHT at night, which we are THRILLED about! She's also finally taking more consistent naps. Still not 100%, but is MUCH more consistently sleeping 1.5 - 2 hours. Thank goodness! Now if only putting her down to sleep for the night would go a little smoother... Well we can't ask for too much!


As you can see, Lyla still LOVES her bath time. She especially loves playing with all the ducks in the tub (and by playing, I mean putting them in her mouth and sucking on them like a pacifier). We've found that our child is a toy hoarder. We're not sure if this is a trait that means she'll be an organizer/cleaner down the road, or if she'll be a, well, hoarder. We're hoping for the former to be true. If you look closely at the picture, you'll see she has one hand behind her back. In an effort to collect all the ducks in one spot, she often sports a behind the back duck grab. Quite savvy, our little one. :)

Yep, Lyla just got her first swim suit! We were fretting what kind of suit to buy her (no bikinis!) and wanted to make sure she had plenty of sun protection, so this suit seems to be the perfect solution. Sadly, the weather is so miserable and unpredictable in Connecticut that she may not get to swim at all this summer.

Here's the standard monthly shot, complete in her Easter dress. Dustin didn't understand the concept of an Easter dress, and accidentally dressed Lyla in her original Easter dress a month or so ago, so this is her NEW Easter dress. Still cute!
