Lyla's 7th Birthday

Lyla celebrated her 7th birthday this weekend!  Instead of having a big party with friends, she opted for a Girls' Day Out with two of her friends from church, Lucy and Genevieve.  The girls had lunch at Olive Garden, went to Build-A-Bear to make their own stuffed animals, then topped it off with ice cream and opening presents.  I love to watch Lyla have a good time with her friends, and it's definitely fun to listen in on their conversations. :)

On Sunday, Lyla had a birthday dinner made by Paga, opened presents from the whole fam, then enjoyed eating some Pokeball cake.  Lyla was so happy with all her gifts.  This year she got Baby Alive Chicks, Shopkins, Hatchimal minis, a Shopkins Seek and Find book, Sew Cool sewing machine, a shopping trip to Justice Just for Girls with Dad, Pokemon cards, a HexBug Octopus, a secret ink journal and some cash to spend post-birthday.

This birthday left Lyla feeling sad because she wasn't sure she'd ever be able to top the birthday she had this year.  Talk about pressure!  I assured her she would have MANY more awesome experiences this year and in birthdays to come.  Here's to nothing but totally awesome days this year!
