Ellen's younger sister, Emma, is finishing up her last year at Morehead State University playing volleyball. Since the first week of November was Emma's Senior Day, Ellen and her brother, Aaron, decided to take a brother/sister trip out to the Midwest to join Emma on her big day. Ellen and Aaron got their money's worth on the trip, as Morehead won both their games against Southeast Missouri and Murray State. Also, that weekend Emma broke Morehead State's record for career block assists. Way to go Emma!
To help celebrate Emma, Ellen's family had "Got Moose?" shirts (Emma's nickname) that had her name and jersey number on the back. Ellen's parents bought shirts for all of Emma's biggest supporters to wear to the game. Emma's friends from church also made a ton of signs for Emma, as well as taking a picture of Emma's head, blew it up, and put it on a stick for everyone to hold up during Emma's games. They also took one of the "Flat Emmas", as they were dubbed, and took it's picture next to random things and journaled her journey to the OVC championships. In a word, it was spectacular.
Dustin and Sherie watched Lyla for the weekend, and they kept busy dressing Lyla up in various hats and letting her dance her little heart out. It was a successful first trip away from Lyla for Ellen, but she was so glad to get back to her!
