4 Months Old!

Lyla turned 4 months old today! On her recent doctor's visit, she weighed in at 14 lbs. 5 oz. (exactly double her birth weight) and was 25 1/2 inches long. Her weight is in the 75th percentile and her height is in the 90th - we're wondering where the height is coming from! Of course, another round of shots were administered, but Lyla faired okay since her daddy was able to hold her hand during the shots (he was off for Martin Luther King Day).

Over the past month, Lyla has had some exciting new developments in her bag of tricks. Sadly she STILL can't roll over BUT can now grab things in front of her, is learning to enjoy being on her tummy (she used to cry and scream when we'd flip her over, and now we think she almost prefers to be on her tummy - more mobility!), she can scoot herself around in a complete circle during tummy time (she can only turn to her left though!), had her first laugh (we're waiting for a more consistent performance to appear), became much more of a social smiler and smiles when she sees her mom and dad, and is starting to figure out how helpful her legs can be (she will wrap them around mom and dad when they give her a bottle and uses them to scoot around in circles on her tummy).
